At Pickett Weaponry, we buy, sell on consignment, and trade firearms in safe, working condition. All valuations are performed in-store and in person—we do not provide estimates over the phone. If you’re bringing in an estate or a large collection, we encourage you to schedule an appointment in advance so we can have adequate staff available to assist you.

To have your firearm evaluated, please bring it clean, unloaded, and in a case. Our front desk team will greet you and connect you with an on-site estimator. For safety reasons, please do not handle or uncase the firearm until instructed by a staff member.

Please note:

  • We do not provide firearm values over the phone.

  • We do not accept trades by mail.

  • Trade values must be determined in person.

How we work

  • 1. Condition Rating

    We work with you to establish a realistic and fair condition rating for your used firearm.

  • 2. Fair Market Valuation

    Based on the condition rating of your used firearm we will thoroughly explain it’s current fair market value and offer you options based on your transaction type of choice.

  • 3. Transaction Type

    Would you like us to buy, sell on consignment or trade in the agreed upon value of your firearm?

    Based on your choice of transaction type we will proceed with the require paperwork and answer any questions you may have.

USED GUN CONDITION RATINGS

PERFECT: In new condition in every respect, with or without original packaging.

EXCELLENT: Used but little, no noticeable marring of wood or metal, bluing perfect, (except at muzzle or sharp edges).

VERY GOOD: In perfect working condition, no appreciable wear on working surfaces, no corrosion or pitting, only minor surface dents or scratches.

GOOD: In safe working condition, minor wear on working surfaces, no broken parts, no corrosion or pitting that will interfere with proper functioning.

FAIR: In safe working condition but well worn, perhaps requiring replacement of minor parts or adjustments which should be indicated in advertisement, no rust, but may have corrosion pits which do not render article unsafe or inoperable.

POOR: In working or non-working or condition, not suitable for retail sale. Disposal sales only.
